Places to See in Mainpat, Chhattisgarh

The first destination we visited was Stone River, also known as Kanhakund. It is a famous local picnic spot. The IB River, part of the Mahananda River, flows directly here. The water carved the stones, which are used for sitting and enjoying the river.

Then, we visited Kotebira Dham, a Shiva temple beside the Ib River. The river here offers a different view. It appears that the waterfall is rising and merging with the earth. Cars can drive right up to the temple, so walking is minimal.

The most famous tourist spot in Chhattisgarh is the Tiger Point Waterfall. This mesmerising waterfall falls 195m. There are stairwells to reach the waterfall, and snack shops sell light food and beverages.

The next destination was the Old Monastery in Mainpat, Chhattisgarh. It is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Chhattisgarh. The Fish Point Waterfall is a confluence of two or three waterfalls. Here, the main fall is a small water cascade. On the opposite hill, you can see other charming falls. You have to take the staircase to reach the endpoint. In the monsoon, the river overflows with fish.

Mehta Point in Mainpat offers a stunning viewpoint of the mountain valley. It takes 15-20 minutes to reach this point in a car. Sunset Point is the ideal spot to watch the magnificent sunset in Mainpat.

Mainpat Monastery Camp. 1 is the main temple. This place holds Buddhist rituals daily and is the site of many Tibetan marriages. The Gyalton Karying Dubde Ling Monastery is a new shrine that is currently under construction.

Jaljali Pani, also known as the bouncing ground in Mainpat, offers a stimulating experience. When you jump on the ground, it bounces back like a trampoline. Visitors can enjoy horseback riding for just Rs. 50. This tourist spot features numerous snack shops.

You can watch the entire Cliff Valley from this area in Green Valley. Thinthini Patthar was our next destination. Here, the big rocks make a metallic sound when you hit the huge stones with smaller stones. This is quite a different natural phenomenon to experience.

Rajpuri Waterfalls are in the Jashpur area. This place is straight out of a picture. Surrounded by lush greenery, it is easily accessible. Cars can take you right in the sight of this waterfall.

Mainpath Hotels

Due to the influence of Tibetan culture, Mainpat offers authentic Tibetan food. Thetwo most famous hotels cum restaurants in this area are Dolma Tibet Resort and Restaurant and Karma House and Restaurant.
