The Ekdalia Evergreen Club Durga Puja is one of the most famous pandals in South Kolkata. This iconic puja, which began in 1943 and has continued to be a source of glory, is situated on Ekdalia Road in Gariahat.
Many North Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata and South Kolkata Durga Puja committees are renowned for their unique themes. Every year, they put up various ideas and create extraordinary artefacts. Among these famous pandals, Ekdalia Evergreen is one of them.
The main attractions of this iconic puja are the traditional form of the goddess Durga, the lighting, the enormous chandelier, and the pandal’s structure. Special mention goes to the main pandal, which exhibits different prestigious temples of our country. The pandal also features various lighting gates that depict different stories.
Ekdalia Evergreen Puja has been patronised by the Honourable Minister, Late Subrata Mukherjee, since 1972. He was the president of this puja committee until his last breath.
