Hotel Seagull Old Digha with Swimming Pool Review

Hotel Seagull in Digha is situated at a distance of 0.5 km from the Digha bus stand. It’s a three-storied property with well-maintained rooms near Digha sea beach. 

A beautiful garden surrounds the hotel for the guests to take a stroll. The rooms have AC, an attached washroom, and a balcony. In-room convenience comprises package drinking water, hot and cold water facilities in the washrooms, and television. 

Hotel Seagull in West Bengal offers a 24-hour front desk and room service facility, an on-call doctor, and a power generator. 

My Stay at Hotel Seagull Old Digha West Bengal

My experience of visiting Hotel Seagull is pleasant. Their reception area is pretty and hut-shaped. All the rooms have AC, and the tariff starts from ₹2500 (approx) and goes up to ₹12000 (approx).

They have a pretty rooftop swimming pool. The swimming pool timings are from 9 am to 3 pm and 5.30 pm to 9 pm. The guest needs to buy a swimming costume before entering the pool. Hotel Seagull is a couple-friendly hotel.

The hotel doesn’t allow outside food. Guests can dine at the on-site restaurant with a room service facility or outside the hotel. We can do bookings from multiple platforms like MakeMyTrip, Trivago, Goibibo, etc.

Seagull accepts on-the-spot bookings. Guests can also book their stay at the hotel’s head offices (Golpark and Shyambazar in Kolkata, WB). Hotel Seagull doesn’t offer any pickup or drop-off facility. Their check-in time is noon, and checkout time is 11 am.

When I visited their rooftop swimming pool, I was delighted to find a jacuzzi, resting place, and a foot spa. There is a small pool for kids. The ocean is visible from the sea-facing rooms and rooftops. Hotel Seagull has an excellent ambience.

I stayed at room number 303, which was furnished and had a full wall mirror. The Bay of Bengal looked mesmerizing from the balcony. The washroom was hygienic. The tariff of room 303 was ₹4300, which is worth the facilities offered by Seagull.

Hotel Seagull also has cottages. The ocean is within walking distance (you cannot get down and have a bath).

New Digha Beach is 2.9 km, whereas Old Digha Beach is 600 m from Hotel Seagull.

People can enjoy a well-maintained rooftop swimming pool at Seagull Hotel. For kids, they have a separate pool. The swimming pool timings are from 9 am till 3 pm and from 5.30 pm till 9 pm. Hotel Seagull has a policy regarding swimming costumes. Guests would not be allowed to enter the pool without costumes. They can rent the swimming costumes from the hotel. Seagull has a foot spa, jacuzzi, and a resting place along with a swimming pool.

The rooms are segregated into six categories: superior studio rooms, family rooms, deluxe rooms, king suite rooms, family suite rooms, and apartments.

The family room has two double beds, accommodating six people at a time. Deluxe double room provides two options- with/without balcony and non/sea-facings. The superior studio has a double bed, a separate living room, and a balcony.

The apartment provides a private area with a sea/ garden view. There are two bedrooms in King Suite with extra-enormous beds, a sofa cum bed (additional) and a separate living room.

Hotel Seagull is famous for its on-site restaurant that offers local Indian cuisine. The all-day-in-house dining restaurant offers room service to its guests. As per the hotel’s policy, guests cannot bring outside food. However, they can dine elsewhere. 

There’s a Wow Momo outlet less than a km from Seagull serving ten different momo varieties. The Digha Dhaba Restaurant at 180 m from Hotel Seagull offers Indian dishes. Saikatabas Restaurant (400m) and Ankur Restaurant (30m) are famous for their Bengali cuisine.

About Old Digha and New Digha

Digha is a seaside resort town in WB, India. The town lies east of the Midnapore district with the Bay of Bengal on its North. Digha has a low gradient with a shallow beach and gentle waves that extend up to 7 km. It’s the most popular sea resort in WB.
