The Satsang Ashram is a sacred place where Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra’s followers gather to worship their Guru. Anukul Thakur Ashram is a famous tourist place in Deoghar, Jharkhand.

Satsang Ashram Deoghar Jharkhand

“Anukul Thakur Ashram Deoghar”, called Satsang, is in Deoghar. It is located next to the Baidyanath Dham in the Santal Pargana of Jharkhand and is one of the state’s major tourist attractions.

The disciples of the Satsang Deoghar ashram follow four principles: education, agriculture, marriage, and history. Satsang has many charitable schools and hospitals to help ordinary people. In addition, it has a printing press and publishing house run by members.

The ashram has lodging and eating arrangements. It also has a small zoo and museum. The complex is vast, and religious activities take place within it. Those who take the ashram’s pupilage can get accommodation throughout the year. Food / Prasad can be bought at the lowest price.

Establishments of the Satsang Ashram

Thakur Anukul Chandra established Satsang Ashram in Deoghar in 1946. Activities of ashrams in India and abroad are directed from here, with countless fans of Anukul Chandra worldwide.

‘Satsang’ has 5,000 centres in various places. Named as Satsang Bihar, Satsanga Sambhavanna Kendra, Satsanga Vyasana Kendra, Satsanga Mandir, Thakurbari, etc.

The Satsang ashram centres are spread across Bangladesh, Nepal, India, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and America. Hundreds of Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Jains, and indigenous saints have joined Satsang for many years.

Every year, people from different states in India, Nepal, Myanmar, China, Japan, Sri Lanka, Africa, Europe, and America take “Diksha” from Sri Thakur.

Satsang Vihar Ideology 

Satsanga is a religious movement started by Thakur Anukul Chandra. Its ideology is that religion is not a miracle but a science-based life formula; love is precious, and it can be bought with peace.

The purpose of the ashram is to make people genuine. The main goal of religion is to sustain lifelong growth. Sri Sri Thakur said, “I can leave an empire in exchange for a man, but I cannot leave a man”. The motto of ‘Satsanga’ is “Give me a life of emotional memory constantly”.

Satsang Centres for accommodation

Thakur Anukul Chandra came to Deoghar during his 59 years of “Naralila”. He spent 23 years in Satsang Vihar Deoghar Ashram. Then, during the 67th birthday celebrations in 1946, he suddenly announced that he was going to the West after establishing the ‘Gazipur Satsanga Ashram’ of Guru Gobind Saheb in the land of Bihar.

He set up various charitable institutions, including Anandabazar Bhaban and Tapoban Schools. The ‘Golghar’, ‘Baral Bungalow’, ‘Monomohini Dham’, Sri Hasraiqur’s Basghar ‘Hosni Laws’, ‘Pallar’, and ‘Nirala Nibas’ are for devotees and visitors. The ‘Sixteenth building’, ‘Vivek Badan’, etc., are made for Sri Thakur’s family.  

Thakur Anukul Chandra established a drinking water and electricity supply, a guest room, a press, a post office, a wire office, a hospital, a college, and a publication house for Bangla, Hindi, and other languages. These are the ‘Amar Dutti Vidyamandira Library’ and the ‘Dutt Dipti Hospital’, etc.

Hundreds of Satsangi families were living in these buildings and Bhavans. At that time, Thakur created monasteries and wished to build a sacred city. The motto was to increase knowledge of science and service, and to disseminate different philosophies.

The Deoghar Satsanga Ashram area is full of natural beauty. Also, the famous Baidyanath Dham and many other temples of deities in Deoghar. Besides all that, Ramkrishna Vidyapith and Sri Balananda’s ashram are also a little away from here.

Satsang Ashram Deoghar opening time

The Satsang Anukul Thakur ashram is open to local people from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and again from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
