Best time to visit Egypt from India

If you plan an Egypt tour, October to December might be the best time. The weather at this time remains relaxed and comfortable. But remember, this place is crowded in winter.

An organized tour of Egypt typically takes 9-10 days on average. There are several trip planners to help you explore the journey with a self-guided tour.

An arbitrary tour plan you may follow:-

• Day 1: Arrival in Cairo. Take refreshments. Visit Giza and the light-and-sound show.
• Day 2: Explore the city on the 2nd day.
• Day 3: Fly from Aswan.
• Days 4-5-6: Enjoy cruising over the majestic Nile.
• Day 7: Exhibit the temple tours to Karnak, Luxor. Take the flight to Aswan on the same day.
• Day 8: Relay the all-day tour to Alexandria.

Safe Places to Visit in Egypt

The ancient historic country of Egypt is almost free of crime. But while visiting densely crowded places like Alexandria or Cairo, be extra cautious about your belongings.

Egyptian police are pretty active and helpful to tourists. It is advised to carry a valid passport. Make several photocopies of the passport.

The local people are helpful and friendly to tourists. But for a woman, it is safer not to travel to the Bar or in a cab alone at night. Travelers (especially women) should cover their legs, arms, and heads in holy places such as mosques.

Egypt Visa and Passport Requirements

Foreign nationals can obtain a visa on arrival in Egypt. It applies to host countries such as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, Canada, Georgia, New Zealand, Japan, the Scandinavian countries, Korea, the Russian Republic, Ukraine, and Serbia.

A visa for each person costs 25 USD and can only be paid in cash. Currency exchange counters are also available for tourists who do not have US dollars.

The passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Egypt. Otherwise, the entry may get denied here.

Currency in Egypt

Egypt and Britain use the pound as their currency, but their exchange values differ. For example, 22 Egyptian Pounds (EGP) equals 1 British Pound. So, upon arrival in Egypt, British travelers need not worry about the high entry charges at various sites. It is pretty affordable compared to the British pound.

Arabic is the main language spoken here. The common phrases are:-
